Pilates is undoubtedly having a moment. From TV to social media, it’s capturing widespread attention. As Pilates gains prominence in the public eye, it has become increasingly attractive to the fitness industry. This has led to a significant expansion of Pilates offerings—not only in traditional studios but also in large gyms and fitness chains, particularly through the addition of Reformer and Mat classes.
Balanced Body has developed unique programs tailored specifically for fitness professionals—a distinct group from those traditionally seeking Pilates education. These individuals are accustomed to leading large group sessions and are likely to begin teaching immediately after completing their training.
With this in mind, Balanced Body has crafted an educational pathway that helps fitness professionals understand the essence of Pilates—not just its exercises and choreography. Our focus begins with enhanced movement principles and foundational pre-Pilates education, helping learners grasp how the body sequences high-quality movement.
By breaking down how the body generates flow and energy, we provide fitness professionals with the tools to appreciate the nuances and effectiveness of the Pilates system.
Once these movement principles—the “how”—are understood, our programs introduces the “why.” Exercises are grouped into families or movement trees, demonstrating how principles can be progressed, varied, and layered to create a more cohesive and purposeful class experience.
With a deep understanding of both principles and exercises, the courses then focus on accessibility—how to teach in a way that allows everyone in a group setting to participate successfully. Our approach emphasizes clear choreography, offering built-in modifications and progressions so instructors can scale each exercise. The goal is not perfection, but empowering participants to explore their best version of each movement.
This level of detail, flow, and adaptability enables fitness professionals to deliver Pilates effectively in large group settings while still creating individualized experiences—whether in a group format or one-on-one instruction.
Because fitness professionals often work across multiple disciplines and sports, the movement skills developed through Pilates are fully transferable. The improved quality, efficiency, and ease of movement gained through Pilates enhance overall performance, enjoyment, and physical outcomes in other forms of exercise.
By focusing on the specific needs of fitness professionals, Balanced Body is leading the way in upskilling experienced coaches in a practical, accessible, and inspiring format.
By building on the skills they already possess—and layering in movement principles and system-based learning—Balanced Body ensures that as Reformer and Mat Pilates expand into larger group formats, the quality and integrity of Pilates remain uncompromised.

With over 23 years of Pilates experience, my journey in movement began while studying Law and Psychology at university. I started teaching spin classes and discovered a deep passion for fitness and helping others move well. That passion led me to Pilates, where I completed my classical training and later advanced my education through BASI Comprehensive certification.
Along the way, I also completed a Master’s in Business Administration, which supported my transition into studio ownership and leadership roles. I ran two Pilates studios, gaining hands-on experience in both instruction and business management.
