As a top-tier boutique movement studio and education center, spring cleaning is about far more than maintaining a beautiful space. It is an expression of our ethos, a commitment to safety and wellness, to teamwork, to inclusivity, and to creating systems that support everyone.
At Blue Moon Pilates, I have 23 years in business and am entering our 14th year as Orange County’s authorized Balanced Body training center. We care for our clients, teacher trainers, and for each other with equal intention. Clean, organized environments support physical safety and nervous system regulation, while clear administrative and communication systems reduce stress behind the scenes. Responsibilities are shared, expectations are clear, and no single person carries the load alone.

My approach to studio care is deeply informed by my background as a professional ballet dancer. In the theater, the stage and the company’s preparation are set long before the audience arrives. When preparation is done well, performers feel supported, transitions are seamless, and everyone can fully engage and stay present in the work ahead. This philosophy guides how we operate every day.
At Blue Moon Pilates, the studio is the stage, and our team is the company of 17, including instructors, full-time Client Care Specialists, an education coordinator, and a social marketing lead. Each role is essential. Teamwork is built intentionally through communication, shared systems, and ongoing support. I remain actively involved in developing protocols across the backstage and front-end, teaching, mentoring, and guiding the team, checking in regularly to ensure operations run smoothly and that everyone in the community feels supported.

This collaborative approach creates consistency, and consistency builds trust. Clients know what to expect each time they walk through the door. They feel safe and seen, which encourages them to stay engaged and achieve their goals.
In this context, spring cleaning is not a seasonal task. It reflects how Blue Moon Pilates operates year-round. These values come to life through our shared systems. By organizing studio care into daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual rhythms, safety, wellness, education, and community are built into the flow of each day rather than managed reactively.
In a busy studio offering private sessions, group classes, and professional Balanced Body education, daily systems ensure the studio runs smoothly, safely, and calmly, even at peak activity.
Daily Flow~ Safety and presence every session
- Trainers reset equipment to its Blue Moon default settings immediately as they move from apparatus to apparatus, returning equipment and props throughout the 50 min sessions.
- This level of care allows multiple experiences to coexist seamlessly, including up to five private sessions in one room, a six-person group class, and a full education training program running simultaneously in a neighboring studio on designated weekends.
- Movement through shared spaces remains safe, intentional, and calm.
- Equipment is checked and wiped down after every client.
- Balanced Body strap covers are sanitized after each use, supporting hygiene without time-consuming laundering.
- Any equipment concerns are logged and communicated to the team via Slack channels at the end of each shift or during the 10 min break between sessions, as needed.
Client & Instructor Support
- Full-time Client Care Specialists are present every hour the studio is open, providing hands-on support to clients, instructors, and the common space.
- Clients do not enter studios until rooms are fully reset and are safely monitored by the Client Care team
