Pilates has always been ahead of its time.
Long before neuroscience and fascia became mainstream, Joseph Pilates understood that movement wasn’t simply about muscles. It was about awareness, control, precision, breath, and the relationship between the mind and body.
Today’s movement science is helping us understand why those principles have been so effective for nearly a century.
We’re learning how the feet, fascia, breathing mechanics, airway, vestibular system, vision, and nervous system continuously influence movement quality, balance, resilience, and healthy aging.
The question is no longer just how people move.
It’s why they move the way they do.
For Pilates professionals, this opens an exciting new perspective.
Every cue we give is interpreted through the nervous system. Every movement depends on the quality of sensory information reaching the brain. Understanding those connections doesn’t replace the principles of Pilates. It expands them, offering a deeper understanding of how people learn, adapt, and move with confidence.
Whether your goal is improving spinal articulation, creating better foot awareness, refining movement quality, or helping someone return to the activities they love, understanding the body’s sensory systems provides another lens through which to guide lasting change.
The Science Behind Better Movement
Pilates professionals have always been lifelong learners.
Today’s instructors study biomechanics, fascia, breathing, neuroscience, rehabilitation, and movement science because they know that better understanding leads to better teaching.
That’s the philosophy behind the Sensory Intelligence Summit by Naboso.
Rather than focusing on a single technique or profession, the summit brings together Pilates instructors, rehabilitation professionals, movement educators, trainers, manual therapists, and healthcare providers to explore one central question:
How can a deeper understanding of the nervous system help people move better?
Across two immersive days, you’ll learn how sensory systems influence movement through topics including:
- Sensory Intelligence and movement longevity
- Fascia and connective tissue
- Breathwork and nervous system regulation
- Airway health
- Functional neurology
- Human performance
- Healthy aging
- Practical movement assessment
More importantly, you’ll discover how these concepts connect and how they can immediately elevate the way you assess, cue, and teach your clients.
Learn From Leaders Across Movement Science
The summit brings together an exceptional faculty representing diverse perspectives across movement, rehabilitation, and performance, including:
- Dr. Emily Splichal — Sensory Intelligence & Movement Longevity
- Dr. Perry Nickelston — Fascia & Lymphatics
- Dr. Sean Drake — Breathwork & Somatic Healing
- Dr. Neel Bulchandani — Consciousness, Performance & Human Potential
- Dr. Mandeep Johal — Airway Health
- Joshua Holland — The Awareness Shift
- Veronika Campbell — Neurofascial Specialist
- Sue Hitzman — Fascial Hydration Specialist
Each presenter brings a unique perspective, but together they offer a more complete understanding of how sensory systems influence movement, resilience, performance, and recovery.
Why This Matters for Pilates
As Pilates professionals, you’re already teaching awareness.
The summit simply expands that conversation.
You’ll gain a deeper understanding of why certain cues work, how sensory input shapes movement, and practical strategies you can immediately bring back to your studio.
Whether you’re teaching on the Reformer, leading a Mat class, or working one-on-one with clients, these concepts can enrich the way you observe movement, solve challenges, and help people achieve meaningful outcomes.
Because most clients aren’t simply trying to move better.
They’re trying to return to the activities they love, build confidence in their bodies, and feel like themselves again.
Join a Community Shaping the Future of Movement
One of the most valuable parts of the summit isn’t just the education.
It’s the conversations.
You’ll spend two days learning alongside practitioners who are curious, collaborative, and passionate about advancing the future of movement.
If you love asking better questions, exploring new ideas, and continually refining your practice, you’ll feel right at home.
