Brooke Baker is a Pilates instructor with a lifelong love of
movement and a deep appreciation for how intentional
movement can change the way people feel in their bodies.
Originally from Chicago, she grew up surrounded by movement,
rhythm, and body awareness through gymnastics, dance, cheer,
color guard, soccer, and track. Pilates-based conditioning was
part of that foundation long before she had a name for it, and
these disciplines would shape her early understanding of physical
awareness.
Brooke began taking Pilates classes in 2020 during COVID, a time
when movement became less about performance and more
about grounding, strength, and connection. Pilates quickly
became a place where she felt at home in her body, drawn
reminder by reminder to the method's focus on breath, control,
and the mind-muscle connection. That experience led her to
pursue formal Pilates education in 2023, and she began teaching
later that year.
Today, Brooke teaches both private sessions and athletic
reformer classes, working with a wide range of clients and
movement backgrounds. Her teaching style is contemporary
and strength-focused, influenced by physiotherapy principles
while staying rooted in Pilates fundamentals. She has a special
love for mat Pilates and believes there is something powerful
about slowing down, working with less equipment, and building
strength and awareness from the inside out.
Brooke's classes are often described as challenging, but her goal
is never to push for the sake of pushing. Instead, she encourages
students to pause, center themselves, and move with intention.
She is passionate about creating welcoming, supportive spaces
for bodies of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds, and believes that
when people feel strong, seen, and supported, they move through
the world with a little more ease.
