On April 18th-20th, fifteen Contrology Authorized Demo Centers (ADCs) visited Balanced Body Headquarters in Sacramento for three days of community and fun. It was the Inaugural ADC Gathering, and it was amazing!
The event started with our ADCs boarding our van at our hotel, with me as the driver, to head to dinner at the Endelman home. Ken and Roz cooked delicious fare, which we washed down with our signature drink, “Monkey on a Stick.” There was conversation, laughter, and all-around fun! It was lovely to meet fellow ADCs from as far away as Belgium and across the US and Canada, including our service dog guest, Louie.
On The first full day of activities, we got to experience Ken’s famous facility tour. (Ken LOVES showing people around the production floor.) Everyone was amazed by just how well-run the factory was. But we were most wowed by the robot sander and checking out Ken’s trash. LOL Balanced Body is a very eco-conscious company. They use a massive Dyson-like vacuum to extract and recycle wood and dust particles from buildings. They have lined solar panels across the entire building, which power BB and other properties.After the tour, we spent the afternoon reviewing the entire Contrology apparatus line (including a top-secret new addition). Our Director of Marketing, Chanin Cook, shared details on marketing Contrology and opened the forum for suggestions from the ADCs. The day would only be complete with another yummy dinner. This time, we set out to Seasons 52 restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious meal in a private dining room. Ken and Roz were present, as well. They are always a joy to be around and enjoy getting to know the ADCs.
Saturday morning started with professional headshots and video interviews for all. People stepped into our video recording studio, got their photos taken, and shared what they love most about Contrology by Balanced Body and being an ADC. Meanwhile, in our equipment studio, others got to play on the entire Contrology apparatus line and be professionally filmed for future marketing opportunities.
Once we wrapped filming, we headed to Midtown Sac for a food and art tour. It was amazing! We learned all about the murals of Sacramento in between stops at various restaurants, bars, and dessert shops. We were stuffed by the end of the tour.
After the tour, some folks headed home. Others met at the hotel bar for one last eve of fun and laughs.
The Inaugural ADC Gathering was a fantastic event. The event created community, a renewed love for Pilates, and an increased appreciation for the exceptional Contrology classical apparatus line (a gift from Ken Endelman, Jay Grimes, Sandy, Shimoda, and Karen Frischmann).
